About This Product

Our new Z-Tec Hybrid Self Propelled Aluminium Lightweight Transit Wheelchair - ZT-EC6 HYBRID combines the benefits of the transit and self propelled model wheelchairs into one. This hybrid wheelchair is especially suited to people who are independent but require occasional support.

Made from lightweight aluminium, we find that the wheelchair is easy to manoeuvre and handle. Quick release rear wheels mean that the Z-Tec Aluminium Self Propelled Hybrid can be converted into a transit wheelchair in a matter of seconds; it’s extremely practical and user friendly. For safety and peace of mind when you’re out and about, the wheelchair also comes with anti-tippers and a heel support.

Practical indoors as well, the wheelchair’s flip up desk armrests allow closer access beneath tables and the swing-away removable footrests make it easy to get in and out of the chair. A folding backrest, quick-release removable wheels and swing-away footrests make the wheelchair compact and easy to store.

Overall, it’s a well-designed and cost-effective wheelchair that ticks many boxes.

    Good buy

I bought this chair as replacement for old one. Decided on the Hybrid because of the dual wheels on it. Excellent wheelchair, large wheels are very easy to get on and off. Had a break in one of the front wheels when arrived but contacted simplelife mobility and was sorted with a replacement very quickly. Must add that that the break in wheel was just one of things that happen and in no way whatsoever reflects on simplelife mobilitys quality of product. Will definitely use this company again and recommend to anyone.

    Excellent so far..

Ordered as a replacement for a less suitable wheelchair. I did my research this time. This hybrid had all the attributes I needed. Lift up armrests for side transfer, fold-down backrest and the chair folds together to make it compact enough to fit in the boot without having to drop the rear seats or remove the self propel wheels (BMW 118d). I haven't lifted it myself, but my husband doesn't seem to have a problem lifting it. It seems very sturdy and the solid side panels help to stop clothes from getting caught in the wheels. It can go through all of my interior doors without removing the skin from the back of my hands, something my old one didn't do. I like the wheel grips, which, being wavy, are much better than the smooth aluminium grips on most other wheelchairs. We have not used it as a transit chair yet, but the self propel wheels are easy to remove by just pressing the centre button and pulling the bar out. This is something I am able to do comfortably myself, as because this is a hybrid, the chair doesn't fall over with one of the large wheels removed, it stays upright, balanced on the small transit wheel. I ordered the seat cushion to go with it as I will be sitting in it during meetings, it is quite comfortable. I am able to sit close enough to the table to make notes etc. due to the armrests being lower at the front. The solid tyres' grip does make a slight squeaky noise on the office carpet, but my other chair did this as well, so I'm not bothered, at least people can hear me coming up behind them. Delivery was 48 hours (working days) from order and there were no problems. I have only had it 3 days, but am very pleased with it so far. It was very reasonably priced too :)
