    Perfect chair for my Mum

I ordered this chair for my 78-year old Mum and she loves it. It's so much more comfortable for her than my old sofa. Note that this is just the chair though, not the footstool as the photo might suggest.

    safety warning

I am 75 years old and purchased two of these fireside chairs. Very nice, comfortable and appeared to be well made. I live alone and use only one chair normally and suddenly after 10 months the two front legs on the chair I use folded up tipping me on the floor. The legs appeared to be only fixed with butted and glued legs with only two small dowels about the size of a pencil for each leg. True the manufacturers replaced the chair in a reasonable time but considering the shock I went through I expected some compensation and an explanation. The compensation was trivial considering the upset but I never received any explanation why it occurred. I was even more surprised when examining the two chairs I retain that the two reinforcing corners on each leg were not actually bonded to the frame and one could insert a strip of paper through, what was I assume a bonded joint. I submitted photographs of the apparently faulty legs but again no response. I now am nervous every time I sit in the chair. Be warned.
